Student Life and Academic Issues

The Office of the General Counsel works closely with Student Affairs management, Deans and staff to provide legal interpretation and advice involving all aspects of undergraduate and graduate student life at the Institute. These include admissions; diversity; athletics; clubs; housing; discrimination; disability; discipline including the Board of Control, the Conduct Review Committee, and the Graduate Honor Council; leave processes; the Honor Code; financial aid; immigration; student organizations and activities; counseling and student health issues; parent and family issues; safety; student computer and internet issues; and overseas and foreign exchange programs. Attorneys advise in the development of student policies, and provide training to staff, Resident Associates and students, particularly in the areas such as academic infractions and disciplinary matters.
