Information Technology  relates to the use, development, implementation, support or management of information systems, including any technology that helps to produce, manipulate, store, communicate or disseminate information. Legal issues surrounding Information Technology include access and control, privacy and security, the use of electronic commerce, social media, cloud computing, on-line education, domain names, and compliance with internet, trademark, copyright, privacy and export laws. The Research Affairs Group of the Office of the General Counsel provides legal counsel to many campus and JPL clients in this rapidly changing area of law, including: The Office of the Chief Information Officer at JPLJPL ITJPL Media Relations and Outreach, campus Media Relations, campus IMSS, the Export Control Offices at both campus and JPL and others.
