Export Control / Import

The Research Affairs Group supports the Offices of Export Compliance on Campus and at JPL, which are charged with implementing federal import and export control laws and related Institute policies. Export control laws regulate the transfer of information, technology and services to foreign persons. These laws impact faculty and other personnel who interact with foreign investigators, students, businesses or governments, or who travel or send information abroad. Import laws govern the entry of goods into the United States, including the assessment of custom duties.
